I was about to leave the house when I got the email that we're closed. I had just finished tossing some stuff in my truck that I don't usually carry...my chainsaw, a gas can with fuel/oil mix, and some tow straps. I figured that would have covered me in case there were any downed trees preventing my return trip home.
Called in at 5 for a status report, was told there was to be a conference call at 630 with Northeast terminal managers. I should have been on the road 30 minutes ago. I'm still in sweats and a hoodie, and plan on staying that way.
Drove the wife to work, now back home waiting for her to call for return trip.
My company cancelled my office hours today, I'll do my road work if the shops are open, I am on vacation after today, heading to Florida Weds., I can finish any appraisals I have not finished from down there
i run a family mechanic shop. and even know i am the only one who opens and closes. my dad over ruled me and told me to open. don't know why, their aren't any customers... then again he was open the entire blizzard of 78'. i think i am closing early if it stays like this ... meanwhile my wife who is teacher is sleeping in bed. wonderful....
