I'm itching to install my slanted muzzle brake but refuse to spend $40+ on a threading die to use once. I need an M14x1.0 Left Hand die...if you've got one laying around that you're not using, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could lend it to me.

It may not be just the die.

Holder if you do not have one / Die handle.

You also have to measure the dia of the barrel and make sure you do not split the die (don't ask me how I know it still hurts)

If the Dia of the barrel is over sized the exterior of the barrel has to be turned or reduced in size using a muzzle cutter. Then the threads can be cut. Long story short it is not just the die you may need.

The tools will cost more than the price of having a smith do it. If you are doing one take it to a smith if doing a bunch then you might want to invest in the tooling.

it actually IS just the die everywhere i've priced them out. i have seen package deals too though. i have located one that i can use since yesterday.

You could try this a lot less than $40. http://tool.wttool.com/tools/14 X 1 Lh Die

Make sure you use a TAT and like Jay said, check the diameter of your barrel! I did a Saiga 7.62x39 with the help of Marc and we had a hell of a time getting the threads started. Saigas are beefed up in diameter compared to most AKs.

just an FYI, i just got contacted by WTTool regarding that 15.95 die and they're on backorder for at least the next 6 months...
