Snowing pretty good here, already a few inches I'd imagine.

Middlesex county's forecast was spot on. About 4" of light fluffy snow and will continue nonstop until late afternoon early evening today. This will be easy to clear.

The white mountains will be getting another 5 inches between today and tomorrow. *rubs hands together in excitement*

Things are underway here on the south shore. Forecast says we’ll be getting 2”/hr at some point. The first inch or so is slippery, wet and heavy and the roads suck.

That's something odd to brag about, why were you so excited to see him cream his pants?

We had thunder snow last winter, I was walking in the woods when it happened.
It was that bright light and instant crack of thunder.

I immediately headed back to the house, flinging shit from out the bottom of my pant legs.

    But very cool nontheless

Weather people get very excited by thunder snow for some reason. Twice I've witnessed it, both times got to call it in to NWS as a Skywarn spotter.

Aaaannd there goes power. Wicked annoying. You'd think I was living in the boonies, not next door to Lowell.

Thank goodness for FIOS and Generac. Ugh.

I got “thunder snowed” on I93 S in Londonderry NH in 2006. Couldn’t see the car in front of me, so exited at Exit 4, tanked up, bought some groceries, and proceeded back to Boston for what turned into a five hour trip.

Rain started light at midnight. Winds increased, rain turned to snow at 6am and we have 6-8” already.

Last high tide was at 9:15am but only 9.2’ plus any storm surge. Last week we had 11-1/2’ plus 3-4’ storm surge. 9:50pm tide is 8.5’ so flooding wont be bad, though salt water flooding is always bad.....

Just finished about half an hour of shoveling, I figured I'd rather dig out 8"-10" now rather
than 16"-20" later. I might even take a spin around the neighborhood just for the hell of it.

Pretty nasty in Gloucester. Got the heat jacked up since it’s only a matter of time these wind gusts knock out the power...

290 easy bound in Auburn must be shut down cause every car is coming off the ramp and trucks are parking in spots I just plowed at Shaw's parking lot.

I can't keep up, 12 foot wide pusher and I just can't stay on top of it.

    Jason.

Seems the jeep creeps are enjoying this storm. Had two cut me off. Should have let them meet Mr. Fisher.

Here in the Constipation State, it looks like the snow's pretty much done west of the Connecticut River. I just came in from shoveling the driveway apron, and it's 36 and already melting.

Sent us home from work at 1pm. Tricky ride home even with a 4x4, and I only live 5 miles from work.

With any luck and god willing, they'll eat a Jersey barrier or telephone pole.

If there's one thing this town does right, it's plowing the streets. I just want to get out and see if DD is open, grab a pack
of butts, and see what's going on out there. Plus, I just bought a Rav4 last fall and I haven't had any opportunity
to see how handles in this weather. I just hope my wiper blades aren't stuck to the windshield because I
forgot to put them up last night.

I left my wiper blades down. Mostly because the windshield had cooled enough before the cold came along with the precip. The snowbroom will clear things off well (at full extension).

I used 4L to get out of the street I'm on after the last storm. There were telecom wires (not connected under the snow, but the truck plow guys didn't check) down so they didn't plow the last few inches that came down. So, I used 4L to get thru what was piled up at the end of the street. The aid dam in the front of the truck actually plowed the higher snow away from there, so that my neighbor could get out (with the Honda Pilot and it's crappy 4wd). I used 4L on most of the street I'm off of, until I got to where the plows had cleared it better. Then switched to 'auto' mode and went hunting for gas (for the genny).

IMO, IF you're going to have a vehicle in NE (especially the parts where we tend to get more snow) you're best to have GOOD 4wd available on your vehicle. Plus have a good amount of ground clearance. Even if it's not your only vehicle, you should have SOMETHING that can travel in this stuff.

I didn't lose power completely, but it dropped a leg for a short amount of time. Lost random things through the house that made no sense.
