Until I hear the tape or the words directly from the person that talked to Steve, I think this is blown way out of proportion.
All of my coworkers are jerkwads and a**h***s. Really. They know I have many guns and am a avid collector and shooter. But in my particular profession, there is nothing they can do or say about it. But if they could use it against me, they would.
Gossip is king (or drama-queen bitch in the workplace). People make stuff up and blow it out of proportion if it makes a good story. I have done the same myself. So until someone can get me a transcript of what actually took place between Steve and your coworker, I think this is a ridiculous and stupid rant.
