Does Smith & Wesson still have a Custom Shop?

I've poked around on their web site, and I see they have a Performance Center, where they apparently build small runs of semi-custom guns, but I'm looking to see if I can have a SINGLE gun built EXACTLY the way I want it.

Specifically, I've always liked the Bodyguard style of J-frames - The hump backed model that can't catch on your clothes but still allows you to cock the hammer when you want/need to. The problem is, they only come with those horrible integral front sights. I'd like to see if I could get S&W to swap the barrell out for one with the interchangable pinned on sights used on some of their other J-frames.

I do realize that I could just have a gunsmith buy an extra barrell and swap it for me, but I thought it might possibly be cheaper for the custom shop to do it in house. No extra barrell that way.

Anyway, anyone here got any experience with S&W in this way?

Regards
John

No is the answer, however they will modify any production gun, trigger jobs
etc. look in the back of the catalog.

Give Greg Derr a call.. He's in this forum...
