Can you translate "Waffen" for me? My German is a bit rusty. I lived in German for three years (1979-81) and then for six months during Desert Storm. Unfortunately I lost most of what German I was able to learn once I came back.

Waffen means weapons or arms, singular Waffe.

Jürgen:
That's a nice looking website. Unfortunately, the forums are closed to non-members. Like Frosty my German is lacking, although I can translate my way through most of it. What is an Anzeigename as opposed to an Anmeldename? I know the meanings of Anzeige and Name, but together the meaning defeats me. It's one of the fields required for registration.

understood better as "surname"

Anmeldename = Login Name
Anzeigename = Displayed Name (nick)
That site is the place I met J_Smith who is a user here,
they had an English section at that time.
It was taken off as there was hardly any traffic.
