Sig recall; cross bolt action rifles; 11/26/2020

i saw an interview with the ceo of sig not long ago. man they have so many irons in the fire for new guns and variations of current guns it must be hard to sort them all out.

So according to Sig that’s “a potential safety concern”!!!! I love corporate speak, that’s a f**king safety disaster, a fatal AD just waiting to happen. And in this case it would be an actual Accidental Discharge on the shooter’s part (and an ND for Sig).

Have they released a new product in the last 10 years that has not been subject to a recall or redesign? Serious question.
Most of the p series legions are great, but that product is very mature overall.... as well as mpx and other shit like that.

I'm surprised Sig didn't call it an unintended feature. I wish we could find a happy medium between say Sig Beretta and HK where they come out with design that works comes in at a decent price (not cheap) and be available. Sig comes out with really cool cutting edge products that have to be redesigned at least twice before its even safe and works properly. Also without the dentistry of them always claiming user error first.

20-20 Hindsight Dept.

Knowing what was to come,
did anyone else watching the video (starting at 25:30)
get nervous when the muzzle went More Up
instead of More Down when he started having malfunctions?

I can believe the range is in the middle of nowhere.
And I'm not saying that any of the shots went over the ridge.

I'm jus' sayin' it underscores how important muzzle control is,
especially when you're surprised by a malfunction...

surprised sig isn’t calling this another “Voluntary upgrade”. the only Sigs I have kept are their hammer fired pistols, otherwise they are dead to me. Anyone dropping $$ on a new sig is either clueless or new to this game.

F-you for making me suffer through a Nut-N-Autism video. [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

I had to suffer through it to get the time stamps right. God, 30+ minutes of video that could have been done in 10. You’d think he was getting paid by the word. He did discover an actual issue this time unlike when he started repeatedly smashing knives on rocks to see how durable they are. WTF dude?!?

Any of them have anything good to say about how the company is managed?

I have not met a single person that worked there that lasted more than like 3 years. Either they get forced out or they leave because they're sick of the BS.

Trigger issue
When cocked and in battery, manipulating the bolt causes it to fire
Or sometimes,
it won't fire on trigger pull,
but it does fire on trigger release.

Another way to put it is,
it frequently doesn't fire on trigger pull,
and if it doesn't fire on trigger release,
just jiggling the bolt causes it to fire.

Didn't think to look about whether it fires
when the bolt handle is on the way up,
or the way down,
or sometimes one vs. the other.

Imagine if you can get it to fire
when the handle is all the way up,
with the lugs completely unengaged.

Not as bad as out-of-battery spraying you with brass,
but maybe almost as bad
(bolt recoils into your cheekbone?)

Ever see the one where the 50 bmg sheers off and sticks in the guys delt... that looks rather unpleasant

Ick.
(Well, better than getting it in your skull, no?)

I think there's a scene in the Dune novel where
a gladiatorial slave's opponent jabs a big hook into his bicep.

So he ties it off flush with his arm, and oopsie,
the shaft serves as a field-expedient rerebrace,
protecting his upper arm against sword-blows on that side.

But really, most guys could do without that.
