Shriner's Gunshow - Wilmington, MA - March 7,8

It doesn't actually matter, I just get more bothered than I should over someone who rather than actually do something spends tons of money they got from god knows where to pretend they are something they are not and mouth off about it. It's almost as bad as impersonating a service member, except they haven't chosen an actual branch. I acknowledge I really shouldn't care but I don't care much for grownups playing games that real people younger than them are dying for in real life, contractors or military.

If I am wrong and they really are contractors, than they are the stupidest most clueless I have ever seen. What kind of contractor is back in MA at every single gun show and walks around like these morons? If they are contractors, they reek of incompetence, because why the hell do you need a camelback and multicam out in public, and why are you always carrying around a like new looking AR decked out with every color magpul accessory, WITH A MAG IN? No used gear looks anything like theirs. They are like Jersey Shore with guns.

Anyone else notice the ATF booth at the back? Those guys looked bored to tears. [laugh]

I saw that. Was it actually the ATF? I saw a bunch of documents but no signs or whatever to clearly state that yes, it's the ATF.

What time were you there? I decided to go last minute.

i got there at around 0930, after working 6pm to 6am, and traveling from western MA. my main goal was to do a FTF with Liberty or Death. met him right off the bat with his girlfriend. we completed our transaction, and my friend and i decided to check out the show. it was my friends first gun show. gun prices seemed average for gun shows. i picked up 500 rounds of 5.56 for $155. we left at about 11ish.

i did see a NESer with a NES Zombie hoodie. and the "contractors".

i'm use to the Big E shows. seems there is more elbow room there.

Anyone see the Hitman walking around again? I laugh every time I see him. My girlfriend caught him this time.

U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens was there ?!?

I have actually never been to one of these. Do you guys think its really worth going tomorrow vs cabelas in CT which is having big ammo sales? Is everything in the show cash and carry? I hate walking around with giant wads of cash

I went there with the intention of browsing the gun porn an maybe buying some AR ammo cuz I had been planning on buying one...I ended up walking out with a Russian SKS w/ all matching serial numbers, 20 stripper clips, and 500 rounds of 7.62x39

Trying to decide if i want to steal the GFs car before she wakes up lol. I am looking for bulk .380 and 7.62x39, tuna cans of 7.62X39 and .45acp and a decent AK in 5.56. Did anyone see any of those for decent prices? I will make the trip for tuna cans or the AK in 5.56

I got there around noon. This was my second show. I didn't have my LTC yet at Marlboro, so I was just window shopping there. Now that I'm "legal" I was hoping to find a good deal on a Walther P22 for my wife. Cheapest I saw was $345, and I knew Four Seasons had them new for cheaper. I met clerk.mvgc and lord1234 at the Mystic Valley Gun Club table. I probably bumped into a bunch of you, as the place was pretty packed. Another attendee offered to buy my Browning Buckmark (we were talking .22s at one of the tables and what we had and what we wanted). Sorry buddy, not for sale (at least not now). I saw the contractors too, but didn't really think much about it. I went over to Four Seasons after the show and bought the P22 from them.

I saw 1 Romanian AK in 5.56. Didn't see any spam cans but both NY dealers had cases.

Overall, a much better show then the Marlborough show. Much fewer knives, much more guns. I was unable to find what I really wanted, a Tantal in 5.45x39. However, I did buy a belt from the leather guy at the back of the last aisle for cheap money, some jerky, and a gunvault for better then any price I saw anywhere else.

Met Zappa, and saw a few other NES'rs. Nodded at Squished, but he sorta just walked past me.

I was surprised that I did not see a GOAL booth.

There was one at the end of one of the aisles in the back towards the side where the leather guy was set up. Price was ok, but not great. I walked by it all morning and it was still there when I left at noon.

Ouch, that was our fault. [frown] I had to contact Angi 2 weeks ago and cancel working the GOAL table for this show and Marlboro, as we have conflicts that makes it impossible to be there.

I hope GOAL is able to get coverage for the Marlboro show. [thinking]

Thanks for the great thread! I'm driving an hour tomorrow am to hit this show. (I'll stop at the cash machine- thinking I may have a morning cigar on the way), working on my first AR build, although I may jump ahead for some ammo if the price is right, pre ban mags etc.....saw the Contractors guys at Marlborough, figured they were hunters from up north in the camo or Reserves/ Hope the lines are short and you guys left some good deals for me....Best regards SH

Forgot to mention. There was a woman getting some of those molded ear plugs and she had a nametag that said NES and then what I assumed was a username (it was something like birdlady, I can't remember exactly). Not sure if that was our NES, but it made me wish there was a better way of identifying each other at things like this. The Zombie Response shirts are probably the best for that right now.

That was Debbie aka BigBird.

Yes, there is more elbow room at the Big E shows, that's because the venue can hold 1000 tables, but they sell less than 400 per show now.
That used to be the biggest show in New England during the 90's. The place would be packed to the gills, and it would take all day to walk around and peruse it all. Not anymore. Marlboro has it beat nowadays for vendor count and attendance, but the venue is half the size, so it's always more crowded there.

I'm looking for M1 30-06 ammo for my newest purchase which I hope will be arriving in 3 to 4 weeks. Is it worth the trip?

Sounds like you ordered it from CMP. If so, why not order the ammo there too?

Dealers buy it and mark it up 50-100% and resell it to folks not in the know!

You won't find it cheaper than CMP anywhere else.
