My brother picked this 1955 Chevy up for his youngest son a couple of weeks ago. Its somewhat of a tradition as my father got one for my brother about the same age and the entire family spent the next couple of years rebuilding it (restomod not full blown restoration) for him to drive to high school his senior year. Nephew has since stripped the interior out this one and removed the front end in prep for it to make its way to my home workshop for the fall and winter. We are planning to pull the body in September, blast and prep the frame, rebuild all new suspension/fuel tank/ brakes/ etc...and replace all the floor plans before it goes back to their house next Spring.

68042C11-55CC-441B-96AF-AE3E4AE3B7BD.jpeg 14 Silverado was starting to have issues. Was looking at Fords, but the Chevy 20% off MSRP was too good of a deal for my company to pass on. At least I got something that should be reliable for awhile, and if not, is at least under warranty.

The "Dodge/Jeep product" I bought for the Missus in 2015. Keeps my Jeep girl happy. She even lets me drive it sometimes.

Hey, I have a 1" Goferrit all steel motor mount lift. This allows the motor to be raised to fit the transmission and radiator better.

W.E.C.: 2 questions: 1) What's DHG? 2) Did they have that "coyote" motor then? If not, what? (OK, 3 questions)

Dark highland green, same as the 68 color on McQueens car.

4.6 3valve motor , with long tube headers and green catted h pipes , Ford Performance cams
It Dino’s @345 hp at the wheels.

coyote motor came out in 2011. 5.0 L 412 hp. out of the box,
    Fun fact:
The first four-valve V8 that Ford made was manufactured in 1969 for a race car. Driver AJ Foyt drove his car, the Coyote, to victory in both the 1967 and 1977 Indy 500’s. In total, he won 25 times out of the 141 races he participated in.

The response to the Coyote name was immediately positive and it stuck.

I just picked this up as a fun car. So far my wallet has not been having much fun but I'm customer of the month at a couple garages in town.

Just picked this up. 1988 GT, it’s an absolute pile of garbage, but it will be on the road again.

It's a Jeep. Right... Always almost done.

    Also Xposting Pic.

No not the shaker. But I couldn't resist.

The Tundra seems to be slightly targeted by the gods at 90k miles. I'm trying to get her over 100k where I think itll settle down and wear off.

20 miles after purchase at 90k, 2nd AIP (shitty system) barfs. Covered by dealer.

A snow bank is kissed. Weird spot. Snow bank was hiding a concrete barrier which a snow plow had hit and moved around 15 ft in the way. Yay. Going to probably replace the pass rear door some time soon. Only cosmetic but not worth the deductible.

Went to pick up camper. Turkey decided it would be fun to launch at a 6200 .lb truck going 70 MPH on I95. Tom rolled off mirror, struck and lost feathers in the door handle. Left blood all down the side and a series of dents. I watched him roll off and then sail into a field and down a hill towards a river. So now I may need two doors eventually. Or I can just forget it since it's all cosmetic.

Got to FLA and the AC wasn't happy any more. Considered a charge can but I hate using them without gauges. It's illegal to do it now with gauges right ?

Paid a shop with good reviews to top it off.. well. Idiot goes at it with a 22oz can of r134a with additives. (Like the $30 cans from AutoZone/orwillies which you should never buy.) I see him through the window shooting the can in with no gauges and I walk into the shop to get him to stop. Manager yells at me. I demand my truck back. Words are exchanged. Truck returned and cc charge contested.

Guess what. AC doesn't work so well. Borrow a set of buddies gauges (mine are 1600 miles away) and confirm it's not a happy camper. So now I gotta find another shop to do a dump and refill. Since the thing has way over a full charge of who knows what at this point.

The commercial vac pump and fill kit was less than 5 ft away from the truck in the shop too. No idea what they were thinking. Blow a $15 can of crap and charge $90 is my bet. Get me to come back a second time and do it again for another $90.

K rant over. Love this truck, but need to pour more time into her to get the bad juju off.

The power line for a USB charging station, 2m Ham rig and CB in the center console worked great.

For the over-filled A/C, just push the pin down, and let a bunch out. Better than blowing up your system.

My 1984 Mustang Notch completely redone, not restored to original. Not much original on this. I’m going to change wheels/tires and tint windows .. and my 2015 GT

I'd say leave those wheels/tires. Just work on making it tuned right and clean.

Another “even dodge”. Had it for a month. Absolutely love it. Getting Flowmaster super-10 added in 2 weeks.

Congrats on the new ride! I absolutely love mine as well, and I've had it for over two years now. Still look forward every day to getting in the driver's seat and starting it up...or using the remote start and admiring the looks and sound from outside the car. I've had a lot of high end cars, and to me, this is one of, if not the most comfortable car I've ever driven, while being an absolute beast on the road when you want it to be. After having Vettes my whole driving life as a fun car, I switched to the Challenger and wish I had done so sooner. A blast to drive and even doubles as a family car (with surprisingly comfortable back seats) with a huge trunk.

    Enjoy!

Great thread. Some really awesome rides here.

I'll probably dox myself posting since I drive the Lotus to different clubs often. PM me if we know each other.

Save the manuals. No autos in this household, except my wife's Vespa.

2019 Wrangler family fun car. Needs wheels and would like to drop a supercharger in it.
    wrangler-runnymeade-flag-lfod-2019-4b.jpg
I've been driving an Elise since 2005, mostly to work but as much as possible. Supercharged among other engine and aero modifications.
    lotus-stone-cow.jpg

2015 Ducati Icon. I don't get to ride it much (~1k per year) but when I do it's on this road usually between Cinnamon Rainbow and Ogunquit.

The 84 foxbody. It’s more work to drive but it’s also faster. Corners better too because it has complete maximum motor sports suspension. Sounds awesome too because it has no smog components... just headers through mufflers and out.

I picked this up New last year and love it, Honda Ridgeline. 25+ miles to the gallon, plenty of room and a built in trunk in the bed. It’s called a “CRUCK” for Car/Truck but I don’t care, CE59CE20-4468-4743-9421-4CACA8CF123D.jpeg
