Larry Legend karma'd to me his spot at Goal's Intro to IDPA course today because he could not make it. It was from 9-5, and it was a lot of fun. only about 2 hours of classroom time, and the rest was shooting at the range. Probably shot about 300 rounds I figure. Great instructors, and overall a real good time. Kudos to the RO's as well. They made everything really laid back and comfortable, and really went over stuff multiple times, if you needed more help. I did much better then I thought I would shooting my SR9C. can't wait to participate in a match, I may not do very well, first time out, but that's the point. Doing it and going over and over it till you do know it. I had a great time and thanks again to Larry Legend. Only been a member here for a short time, and it already paid off. I don't even know him, never met him, yet I got to go to a great event today.

I'm taking the class on Saturday - according to the goal website I should bring 200 rounds - it sounds like 300 would be better?

Yeah, I brought 300 to be safe. And I came home with about 40-50 rounds. So some classes may do it differently depending on how many people. We only had 7 people instead of the full 12. That may have made a difference. I always bring more than I am told to be safe.

after everything was all done, they let you go out and grab whatever brass you want as well. I think I brought home like 400 rounds of brass. haha

Jon Green, GOAL, and the Worcester Pistol and Rifle IDPA crew put on an excellent class. Now that you are hooked I hope to see you at the MWT IDPA match @ HSC on Saturday morning.

this saturday I can't. It is my day to work, and I have to replenish my ammo supply. [smile] That is why the one on October 8th I believe at WPRC will Prolly be the first one.

and, I may just go to a match to watch. Because today we did not do any moving targets or anything like that. We only did 2 scenarios, so I definitely need more work for sure. It is a great starting point though taking that class for sure.

Nobody will care if you shoot poorly, slowly, or drill the non-threats. As long as you are safe just show up and shoot. Let your SO know that you are new and they will make sure that you don't go first. If you show up to watch, you will wish you brought your gear.

GOAL's intro to IDPA course is great. I highly recommend it for anybody looking to get into competitive shooting

+1 Just come out and start shooting.

That is the attitude I am bringing on Saturday. I am not missing another match and certainly not one at the club. I just hope I am up and ready as I am going to a concert Friday night.
