Shot a bump stock AR today

This thread is almost as great as open carry threads. Almost.

Also, "Should civilians own full army equipment like a fighter jet" is hilarious. The Army doesn't own any fighter jets...

I agree, in the same vein, we need to outlaw Corvettes, Porsches, and Mustang GT's. There's no reason to go that fast. It's only 'fun', oh, and as a side note, you'd save orders of magnitude more people every year.
A bump stock is not an upgrade over a standard AR.

There was a car Chevy made back in the late 70s or early 80s. They took a Vega, added a V8 and dubbed it the Monza. Only it was still a Vega, not a Porsche.

Bump Stock is to AR as Monza is to sports car.

I use lol a lot. I don't care if you think it makes me look foolish.

I don't know how I feel about civilians owning full autos.

Extreme arguments remove logic.
Should civilians own full army equipment? Like a tank or a fighter jet or an appachi helicopter? What do you think?

Like I said I don't know the proper way to regular any of that. I'll tell you what I wouldn't like. I wouldn't like to be at the range with an inexperienced person trying to figure out a bump stock.

Here is a website, maybe you should join up.

Whatever the .gov bans civilians from possessing is what they will use if the day ever comes that they are rounding people up in camps. You are right that civilians can not own an Apache. And you can bet that if the awful day ever comes, the sky will be full of them.

The whole idea behind the 2nd was to keep civilians on as level playing field as possible if tyrants ever need to be put in there place. It has happened in the US. OP - read about the Battle of Athens- 1946. A group of well armed citizens were forced to remove a corrupt, murderous, local government. What did they use to over throw the tyrants? Rifles, shotguns and.... dynamite.
They tried the civilized way first, by voting the corruption out of office. The tyrants confiscated the ballot box as they had once again rigged the election.

The Stockholm Syndrome is strong with this one.

Hey Olympus. Do you realize that because of our whacked-out laws, you can't have an STG 44 but this African woman can?

How is that fair? How does that even remotely make any sense?

I see making shit up about me is going on a whole different level. Lol

your quote is true as hell. Good job. You get a gold star

You seriously need to take a remedial English class if you conflate asking a question for “making shit up”.

You have given new meaning to “dense” in this thread.

Real talk why is it so hard for some of you to own up your bs?
why can't you just say "my bad dude, I was blinded by my passion for 2A and my hate for you because I think you insult it so I a)confused you with someone else b) I had no idea what I was talking about c) I thought making an imaginary insult would give my post/point more credibility.
do you think if you do any of that you seem weak? Do you feel the other dudes here will question your sexuality?
its all good. Nothing wrong with owning shit up.
Heres an exemple: "I have changed my mind on certain statements I have made due to lack of knowledge of 2A and bill of rights, I have committed that once I have some free time I will study some articles/books suggested here and educate myself better. I will be shooting a bump stock this Sunday again as long as my ammo order arrives in time"

I'm quite familiar with Bump/Slide Fire stocks. They provide no tactical advantage and decrease the ability of the shooter to inflict harm.

They are a WICKED lot of fun to shoot, though.

Regardless, they are simply a design varient for a firearm and as such are not subject to laws or regulations (ie, infringements).

Olympus, some people are just dicks. Never mind them.

Your opinion in the OP is based upon your coming from a country that is very socialist in it's mindset. Here in the US, those that believe freedom isn't free, and that liberty is a God given right, think polar opposite. Those people SHOULD have cut you some slack, but instead chose to berate your opinion, that was false and not well thought out due to your background. They should have instead taken the time to educate you on HOW your opinion was false, and tried to change it. Some HAVE done that, thankfully. Others are just being dicks.

IMO, bump stocks and cranks ARE a waste of ammo, but fun. Fun should not be illegal just because 1 asshat has ill-will. Bump stocks should not even EXIST, we should be able to have the same weaponry that the .mil has, within our $$$ range. The founders believed this to be evident in order to prevent a RULING .gov. They wanted .gov to remain a representation FOR the people. In order to prevent .gov from ruling, there must be some fear that if they do become tyrannical, then we might decide they need replacement.

alright , forum members simmer down , no need to fling insults at all here.. we all have different background and experiences when it comes to the 2nd amendment.

i was like you olympus .. i came from a background where we were taught guns = bad and only police should have them.. it took a series of bad moments in my life to realize that only I can defend my self in the moment between getting attacked and when police could show up, plus the help of many forums members teaching me to realize that. I have now gone to the side of human rights.. the right to defend yourself by any means when it comes to lethal confrontation. pistol, rifle, shotgun , MG whatever..

when people say that A. does apply to their gun ownership.. that is wrong , because there is a huge political movement to disarm Americans , as the last country in the world that has the freedoms to self defense, and defense against tyranny. so many times in history has a defenseless populace been abused by the people in power. and the only way to keep that in check is with the second amendment. The bump-stock is no exception. bump stocks are just a small part of it . so stand for everything trying to erode the 2nd amendment , or you stand for nothing and your guns will eventually be taken away , as semi auto .. then lever action.. then pump action.. then bolt action, then possibly black powder is all taken away/regulated , or illegal.

You can also read the rest of the thread if you won't. I don't care though.

Remove Mustang GTs from your argument you are losing points.
Porsches make great family cars.

Yes at at this point it's trolling.
if I have free time and energy I'll respond to idiotic comments who haven't read the whole thread with sarcasm. Although it already got old.

PS thanks to those who properly educated me and suggested some good reads.

Dude, I read your OP, I read quite a few of the posts. You trying to minimize my comparison is asinine. There is absolutely no need to drive anything made by Porsche. Period. End of discussion. They are absolutely nice cars, that's not the point, they are unnecessary.

You came here and purposely started a thread that was absolutely against anything the vast majority of us here feel. You get to reap what you sowed. I've fired fully auto weapons for 17 years now, more than most 'military' guys have. I guess that's why I think the argument against 'fast firing' weapons is so dumb. No one uses it except squad sized units in the military to suppress opposing fire so you can advance or retreat.

In fairness, the woman pictured probably lives in a country where the STG is illegal for her to posses.

I think the OP has a right to his opinion, and has been offered enough info to decide if he wants to change his opinion. If not, so be it. I'd rather not engage in the eating of our own. That is what the left does.

I have the same opinion of bump stocks as I have about firearms. If you don't like them, that is fine. I respect your opinion. Don't buy one. But don't try to tell me I can't buy one.
I have never wanted a bump stock, but imagine that they can be a lot of fun. I have always kind of thought of them as a gimmick and a waste of ammo, and would never put one on one of my rifles. I would prefer my rifles to be as accurate as possible,

Thought someone might have been playing with a bumfire at our range this evening, but it was only the local PD filling our berm with lead.

Gonna have to try the belt loop trick sometime soon, then 'bring it' for Pumpkins...

edit- Sorry, bumpfire. Bumfire is the result of eating too many ghost peppers.
