Ta hell you say!!! You are trying to get me to believe that a news media outlet would EMBELLISH the FACTS for the the sake of a good story???

NAAaaaaaaa NEVER! [roll] [roll] [roll]

Come now Adam, we all know that our esteemed media outlets do not embelish or lie or distort the facts in any way, shape or form.

And if you beleive that I have a nice bridge for sale in Bourne you can buy. Guarentee that you can make your money back when you stick a toll booth up.

Man... I've been to the Square One Mall about a ZILLION times. My wife's family lives in Saugus, as do both of my kids' godfathers.

I shudder to think of what I might have done had I been there with my kids and some imbecile starts shooting people (even if it was "just" a BB gun)...

Probably contribute to Reilly's running scorecard of "children killed by firearms"...

So what is it with the milk, bread, and eggs? Do people hear there's going to be a snow storm and get a sudden urge to make French Toast?

BTW, here's a handy hint to know if a snow storm is really, really, bad. Call your favorite Chinese restaurant. If no one answers, the world is going to end.

I don't know. It's weird. And I'm lactose intolerant, so I won't buy milk. But I don't understand while they don't buy up frozen french fries and tony's pizza.

Nah, Jon don't you know that to economize you use the Globe for that! In fact you offer to recycle your neighbors' Globes for them!

That's all they are good for! [roll]

Hmmm Good point Len... However I don't even know if I would like to have the Boston Globe touch my dirty ass!

I might catch liberalism or something... I hear it IS truly a disease!

Well... either that, or it might be the night of Yom Kippur... and all the Jews breaking their fast are there. [lol] [lol]

I'm truly surprised at you. Everyone knows that Chinese food is way to heavy to break the fast with. OTOH, at the end of Passover an order of Subgum Chow Mein goes down very well. <G>

Oh, really? Somehow, I never noticed the times I broke my fast with Cashew Chicken or a PuPu platter... [roll]

Chinese is also great for Christmas Eve or Christmas. [wink]

On Christmas there are really only two things to do, go to a movie and eat Chinese food. Of course this year we broke the mold. My daughter's birthday is Dec 25, and she always complains about there being nothing to do. This year, she turned 21, so my wife came up with the idea of going to Mohegan Sun. Not a bad idea, especially since my wife has a cousin that has a house in Niantic, CT.

My son drove up from NJ to drive down there with us (don't ask), so we set out for CT. First order of business was to find a Dunkin Donuts that was open. No luck after a number of stops. Which lead to my son's comment that more Chinese people should buy DD franchises.

We got to MS and the place was full of... Chinese! Well, actually Asians of various nationalities, but mostly Chinese. Who in my experience are avid gamblers.

Anyway, my mother always told me that Chinese food was too heavy to break a fast with, and I always listen to her! <G>

The Unholy Trinity

It is interesting to read that the phenomenon exists in New England as well as here in The Deep South. I don't remember there being a "run" on milk, bread and toilet paper everytime it was supposed to snow when I was growing up in Mass. in the 50's and 60's. Here in Northern VA, it's a little more understandable. Here, their attitude about snow is "God put it here, God will take it away ... eventually". I can recall almost exactly 10 years ago when my mother and sister were visiting and brought 24" of snow with them, and I had to stop at the grocery store to pick up something for dinner. Of course the shelves were bare of The Unholy Trinity, but that wasn't a Big Deal for me, cuz that's not what I needed. In the line next to me were two Rednecks, and in their cart was four cases of Budweiser; two 50 lb bags of Purina Dog Chow, and at least 12 frozen pizzas. That's The Southern Unholy Trinity.
