Shoot and Campout in GMNF

I'm considering a get together to camp out and shoot in the Green Mountain National Forest sometime early this year. Right now, I'm judging interest. The camping is Primitive. NO facilities at all. The range is a gravel pit nearby. Ross has been to this place.

When the Bikers come up, we arrange for a Portolet to be delivered, and split the cost. I don't want to do as organized a campout as I do with the Bikers, it's a LOT of work. But, the Portolet would work.

To be honest, I was just going to find an old wood chair, and get a 6 inch hole saw for my drill and aim for the middle of the seat.

If the chair had arms, then I would use the arm rest to hold the TP.

THere's a few within a reasonable distance by our terms. About 10 to 15 miles is considered not too far up here. Look for what's available in the Middlebury, VT area.

My cousin lives in that area. It might be a good excuse to drop in on him.

So far, almost everything has been blowing south of us, except for some lake effect snow from Lake Ontario. We didn't get any snow in the valley this past weekend.

My vote is for the first weekend in May. What better way to celebrate turning 46 than to shoot a .45?

All depends when. I am trying to get in for major surgery in late May/early june and will be unavailable for a lot of things after it. If its not to late in the spring I'm happy to postpone the surgery a week or so to get out before the long rehab

Go to Wal-Mart and buy a "Reliance" camping toilet. They cost under $30 and get the job done. My wife and I have one for when we camp up in No. Maine. Better than a log anyday.
