Best way to defuse her is to pull her cork on some widely watched talk show... have someone from LA there to tell her that she's being an asshat and that they WANT the Nat'l Guard there, and would she please shut up and stop pretending to know what the Louisianans want?

Exactly the way to deal with her. She's now "Old News" to the big media, she's done. Her time is up, her fame has left, they no longer want her opinion on anything, EXCEPT to possibly ridicule her belief to pull the troops out of NOLA. That's happening anyways, some (ones pulling security) are about to return to their home states, they've done their job.
