My Mom lives nearby. I usually stop by for Sunday brunch, but... "I'm frightened Auntie Em.. I'm frightened!"... What to do?.. Avoid the area?.. Just call 911?... And what about Mom? Oh my God, what to do???

Eek!

Wait, what's this thing in my pocket? Hmm, "Smith&Wesson Model 442"...wow, what a nice compact little thing.
Wait, also what's this digging into my back, too? "Glock Model 26"..Wow, look at that. Press this button and the magazine releases? Cool. Hey, the bullets have little holes in the tips. What's up with that? (snap back in place. click click. slide racked, and shelter it back into place in this convenient IWB holster thingy). Wow, pretty cool.

But the policeman says I should stay inside. What should I do? And.. and.. what about Mom?.. I'm REALLY FRIGHTENED!...

"Hi Mom!"
"Hi son! I've made French Toast today."
"Awesome! Hey Mom, the cops are saying shelter in place and.. "
" Meh. Here, have some maple syrup, son".

Ummm.....I'm not quite following along here

He's mocking the "Shelter in place" near Tufts (there was a stabbing overnight).

He says, that having a personal safety plan, and the tools to effectuate said plan, lead one to a level of freedom not attainable by those that don't have a plan, and the appropriate tools.

His reward? Maple syrup.

Win.

Though I'm not a French Toast guy (waffles or pancakes), I respect his decision. Especially about the syrup.

She makes the best Banana pancakes too. Stop by and we'll all ward off Evil together! [emoji5]

I think he is referring to this:

2 people stabbed on Tufts University campus; students asked to shelter in place
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/05/3...ty-campus-students-asked-to-shelter-in-place/
I was. I just forgot to add the link.. Hadn't had my coffee yet. Too frightened.. and busy boarding up the doors and windows!!! [emoji28]

I also always wonder how many citizens a scumbag like this tried to stab before they actually did, but were surprised by an LTC who told them "Either drop the knife or I'll blow your f*ckin head off".
Then again, the Media wouldn't even report it...

Speaking of syrup, Nicky, the wife and kids are up in Whitefield NH as I type this ... That great maple syrup place is right down the road. I'll be back with you in a second - gotta text em and tell em to grab a few gallons!

More herding and conditioning of the sheeple.
I'm actually over in Medford near Tufts (and Mom's house) right now and you should hear the conversation in the neighborhood, the stores etc... "My goodness, I hope they catch the guy"..."I know! It's scary! My God those poor people who got stabbed"... and the infamous "Be careful!" from the (unarmed, he's told me in conversations) owner of the convenience store on Boston Ave... "Be careful!"

I felt the urge to add "Just call 911" to the sheep, but why bother.

(Reminder: Medford is a VERY "red" town. Cuz after all, why would anyone need to carry a... aahhh, never mind... )

Thanks for the heads up. I have a commercial reno going almost on campus. I'm thinking phonebooks strapped to my torso will be the best course. Think I saw it in a prison movie. Nothing's going to keep me from getting over to Bob's for a sandwich.

Globe headline says "order given to shelter..."
order indeed, the sheepletizing goes another step.

Mapke syrup makes all the world problems go away.

Good dark amber does. Don't know about that thin, light, watery Vermont fancy grade shit that comes in the Martha Stewart styled glass containers.

Very few food things in the world as good as ME or NH very dark Amber maple syrup. Liquid crack.

I lived near there for 12 years. Aside from the drug deals, pot smoking and afternoon delight partaking in the parking lot across the street.. Wasn't a bad place to live.. Although the drunken frat boys proclaiming their affections for each other at 3 in the morning got old in the summer. "I love you man." sigh..

I went into Boston while the city was shut down friday in May, 2 years ago while the BPD et al shot up watertown looking for the Tsarnievs.

My daughters and I had a lovely time on the rose kennedy greenway. No crowds.

Bob's is awesome, as are the people working there as well, many of whom are friends. Every Saturday for the past ten years I stop and grab sandwiches for the guys I work with. For me it's the Jumbo Chicken Parm, extra cheese extra sauce, with a container of sauce on the side. Also grab a small tub of marinated mushrooms. (They are the best I've ever had)...Then at work I'll open the sandwich "open face" style, smother it with the marinated mushrooms and cover THAT with the extra sauce.

It's literally better than sex.

I know what I am having for lunch tomorrow.

Next time you're at Bob's Italian Foods tell "Lovey", the wonderfully friendly - and always in an upbeat mood - lady behind the counter that Bobby ("Mr. Mushroom") recommended the marinated ones. She'll get a kick out of it.
And tell Tony to keep his finger off of the damned scale when he's weighing your cold cuts!

[emoji6] just kidding. Tony's a great guy and good friend... (plus, he owes me money... )
