I read something a while back. A survey was taken posing the following question:

If you could take one pill that would make it so you would never have to shave again, would you ?

The poll results were something like 95 to one - against.

Boy I would.

How bout you other guys? Maybe the ladies too !

I enjoy it. I still shave old school.

Well, that may be the "Retro Look" school, but for those of us who remember, this is the actual "Old School".

If you ever felt that bit of leather across your ass, you'd remember it.

OK, so it's retro old school. I've been using the same brush from when my dad taught me to shave. I have been thinking about buying a new one. But this one works good. And brushes are pretty expensive.

I've got a new razor, but it's still the same company that made the first one my dad gave me.

I just got a new mug last year, but I still have the old one that I've had for 20 years.

I've never had the balls to use a straight razor...

Maybe we were stupid, but straight-razor shaving was kind of the in-thing at Nuclear Power School back in the early 70's. Got pretty good at it, but had to send the blade home before sea duty; no straight razors allowed shipboard.

YOU THINK?? [shock] [shock]

I coudn't even imagine being in really rocky seas and trying to use a straight razor.

I don't need that pill... I have a great reason for never shaving again (other than trimming, that is): My wife. Kath's seen pix of me without a beard - and never wants to see me like that IRL. She says any time I want a divorce all I have to do is shave. [lol]

Think it has less to do with sea-state, and more to do with inter-personal relations. Besides, not that much rock & roll to a boomer running submerged :-)

Still, "Got pretty good at it" would translate to me as, "I wasn't chopping up my face as bad to where the locals started to know who I was again."

Don't recall saying anything about masculinity; I just said that the wife prefers me bearded.

Not to mention that shaving is a PITF and a beard helps keep your face warm in a New England winter!! I do trim it shorter in the summer, though... [lol]

And I really do enjoy shaving. Granted I only have to shave every other day. But it's enjoyable to me. Mabye that's why I've never gone to one of those electric razors, or the Quatro or M3s or whatever they are.

I really like you, Chris. But you're weird.

I've used disposables, old-time safety razors, electrics... and I hate them all. If G-d had meant me to be clean-shaven, I wouldn't be growing this fur on my face! (that was meant facetiously, folks...) :D

I love Ed when he's wearing his goatee for reenacting. I love his plain face too, but there's just something "bad" about him with that goatee. [lol] <purrrrr> [wink]
