No, call up those who would actually be on the fence. If you are in Maine I would say Collins would be a prime candidate. Also even if you aren’t, it’s easy to call/email someone and try to persuade them to vote a certain way... even if you don’t live in their state...

You obviously don't live in Ma., waste of time contacting these socialists. They laugh at us and I'm sure the aides that take the calls or read the emails delete them instantly.

I don't understand this thought process. Earlier in this thread, you stated that it doesn't affect us in MA because we already have a ban. Now, you're saying existing guns will be grandfathered. Big f**king deal! What don't you understand about another ban that would most likely not have a sunset clause?

Anyone know a link (or can type it here) of something I can cut and paste into an email and send off to senators and others on a daily basis?

That’s the part that stops me from writing to them - I suck at wording things like that in a civil way.

You're absolutely right that I don't live in Massachusetts. I lived in Connecticut, I moved to Georgia. I still summer in CT and the difference in the gun laws between the two states is simply incredible. Worse than that, it's changes that have come about within the last decade. These are changes that I've seen personally.

I write my senators and congressmen. I call their offices. I send the emails. I send checks to CCDL, I send the occasional check to GOAL and to COMM2A even though I never lived in MA. I send regular checks to SAF and I'm a lifetime member of the NRA. These gungrabbing politicians are affecting our futures, and the futures of generations to come.

If you say that there's nothing you can do - and you do nothing - then you're allowing them to have their way.

You missed the point entirely. There won't be anything for us to not comply with unless you're a dealer who will keep selling banned guns. Otherwise there's no "complying" with anything - we just won't have "assault weapons" available for us to purchase anymore. Dems are just turning the heat up underneath the frog with this and there won't be much we'll be able to do to resist this crap, which is why it's vital to get ahead of it now and hammer our pols (well, maybe not in Mass...).

I honestly don't believe this will make it out of the Senate. There are too many Rs, and some Ds, that live in very red pro gun states that would be committing political suicide to vote for this.

Even if you don't believe that you have to wonder if Trump will veto this bill if it makes it to his desk. I think he does. I'll still call and write, but believe this is DOA. We go through this every year and as long as we keep up the resistance I don't see it going very far.

I think trump needs to be reminded that him signing any such bill into law would immediately and irrevocably render him a one term wonder and eliminate any chance of him winning the primary again.

I'd like to believe that he's just mind f***ing feinstein.......if they roll it into one bill then only one bill needs to be debated/defeated and possibly vetoed.....it would also reveal to everyone exactly who in the senate is a turd

The dates are wrong on the 3 mass shootings that they cited.

McClatchy takes their bylines from Fusion GPS. They are a cuck operation taking money from the other side. Just like the Weekly Standard was. They've been running baloney hatchet jobs on "NRA collusion with Russia" lately.

If this bill was introduced in 1790, 1800's, pre ww2, even 1950's, it would be considered treason...? yes? So what has happened?

Trump is a rich boy from NYC. Trusting anyone from NYC with your rights is dangerous.

Treason? Got a cite for this law, its definitions and what it consists of? When was this last used?

Don't be so sure about this.

Again, don't be so sure of yourself.

SO, why doesn't Trump's son or sons, who are allegedly SO pro-2A, have a talk with him? Has anyone thought to get them into the same room with someone willing to bridge this gap?
