Pistol in question is a .22LR Pardini bullseye pistol, but the problem seems like a generic semi-auto issue. Consistently my teammate's pistol will chamber and fire the first round, eject it, but fail to strip the second round, closing on an empty chamber.

He's replaced the mag springs, polished the bolt (blowback system of course), and lubed her good. Still happening.

Any thoughts?

thanks,
Chuck

  • Is this on every mag, or does he have just the one?
  • After it fails to strip the 2nd round, if you pull back the slide does it still not strip the round?
  • If it is not stripping the 2nd round, even after you manually work the slide, is it not contacting the rim of the round in the mag?

If it will not strip the 2nd round manually and it is not contacting the round when you slowly let the slide forward (but the mag is fully seated) you might try adjusting the mag lips ever so slightly outward so the round can sit a little higher.

At least that's what I would do.

Both that he owns. Replaced mag springs. Lip idea is interesting, perhaps they got squished in his box..

Nice idea, will try it!

thanks

try checking the feed lips, follower and mag spring. Also try simply stripping the mag down and cleaning each part and lube it.

When loading the first round, do you first lock the slide back, insert the magazine, and then release the slide? Or, do you insert the mag, then rack the slide? My guess is that it's the first and that magazine drops a little after the first round is fired.
Does it lt look like the magazine drops a little after you insert it? Try holding underneath it so that it's firmly seated and pull the bolt back.
