I went to Cabela's today and my head is spinning.
Firstly, the Tikka action was the smoothest, followed by Bergara with the Remington 700 coming in last. They did not have any Howa rifles.
I am not sure that a target rifle can function double duty as a hunting rifle. The Bergara HMR and the Remington 700 Tactical are very muzzle heavy which is awesome for target shooting but felt like it would be unwieldy in the blind.
I really liked the Tikka lite, but man is that barrel narrow at the muzzle. It is amazing the difference in feel between a 7 and 10 pound rifle. I guess it is 50% heavier.

Anyone have any opinions on the Sauer 100's or Mauser M18?
For starters, and as a bonus...it's not a Ruger.

They are very similar in most aspects. The Stealth has a slightly better trigger though.
