See what color your town is

If you look on this site and select Massachusetts it will tell you what towns are friendly and will issue ALP. It's color coded and didn't copy correctly in here so you have to go look yourself. My town is in grey.

Cities in Green are Will Issue of Class "A" CHP "All Lawful Purposes".
Cities in Red are May Issue and are difficult to obtain a Class "A" CHP "All Lawful Purposes".
Cities in Black are Almost Impossible or Impossible to Obtain a Class "A" CHP "All Lawful Purposes".
Cities in Grey Are Unknown at this time.

Packing.org hasn't been updated in over a year. I know several people from Leominster who have given Mark Soloman their experiences, and Leominster is still shown an an unknown.

Yep, same here. I gave them updated info on Northampton and Amherst and they are still unknown.

This site is more uptodate: http://masscarry.org/ but the updates I gave him aren't on the page either.

Mass Carry

I keep trying to log in to send him an update on Greenfield, which seems pretty green to me, and I keep ending up on the abington page?

With the amount of Mass members we now have, why can't we rebuild the list with new info right here?

I won't be renewing for two years and I was thinking that in my old town I only renewed. Is there a difference from the LEO's view if it's a new app. vs. a renewal? While in Maynard my renewals were virtually automatic. I don't know about new apps. there though.

I checked out Mass Carry again. I had submitted info on Somerville last year. It didn't get updated until 6 months ago. So if you've submitted information, be patient. Very patient.

Does anybody have access to a basic GIS type program like Mapinfo?
This is something I could easily do using the Google Maps API. Still, I think it would be better presented in a list format similar to what PDO has. Having said that, the GMaps API map idea is a breeze and I would gladly do that.

Well, I imagine the data driving the map would come from a list, so I guess BOTH is the best answer.

Similar thread that may have some info: http://northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=160&highlight=GOAL,+towns.

Seems any such list will always lag reality as CLEOs are replaced, by-laws enacted, and whatnot. But, any list, IMO, is worthless if it's six months outdated. So, updating the list sounds like a great idea as it would be a great reference for all. BTW, Grafton is GREEN (though that info is over a year old).

Perhaps a moderator can combine these two threads and do some sort of a poll for all the towns?

Winchendon police get new chief

I think Sturbridge or Charlton or some other town out that way also has a new chief. You can check the T&G for this if you're interested.

Do you need a new "job"? [devil]
Wise guy....
Actually, the list as it is can be saved in it's current format in Word and just uploaded to the board without having to retype it and set the colors. It just needs updating.

I and an administrator from packing.org designed that town and city information. tele mark is correct. Since I moved to New Hampshire, I've stopped doing reseach on that link. Since police chiefs or firearms officers can retire or be replaced from year, the info for every city and town may not be up to date. Check masscarry.org. They "borrowed" my research and have that info too. Since it's all info to gunowners, I don't care who uses it. I don't know if theirs is up to date.
