Scout scope

I recently purchased an M1A Scout rifle. I have been having a hell of a time finding a decent scout style scope for it. Anyone have any suggestions? Preferably one that will not cost 2/3 the price of the rifle?

The Leupold scout + rings together should be ca. $300, and works very well. For a few extra $, they now have a variable magnification version.

I know you didn't ask but, I too bought a scout and had trouble finding an optic that would not break the bank. I wound up taking the scout mount off and put a vented handgaurd on her ( it looks bad ass BTW). I plan on a using a Bassett receiver mount and a conventional scope if I do scope it. Just my .02
