Just wondering what you guys think of it. I'm looking into buying a savage rifle but didn't know if I would like the Accu Trigger. Something about the fact I have to get that down all the way before I can pull the trigger isn't sitting well with me. It might be one of those things you need to try first to understand.

I will say I do love a two stage trigger. Is it possible to put one into a savage rifle?

the thing you push all the way down before you squeeze the trigger is basically a trigger safety IIRC,
it's so you can turn the pull down to 1.5 pounds and not shoot someone every time you load it, or drop it, or breathe....

I just bought a Mark 2 with the accutrigger and it doesn't bother me at all. Don't even notice it now that I've put ~200 rounds through it honestly. Great plinker.

I like the Accutrigger. It is not quite as good as a nice aftermarket trigger, but it doesn't cost extra, either. I don't really notice the blade on the trigger anymore unless I'm paying attention. Sort of like a very light first stage on a two stage trigger. I have 4 of them: 3 standard accutriggers on the 10 , MkII and 93R17, and a target on a 12. The target can be adjusted very light, but does not feel quite as crisp as a couple Timney's I've tried.

I haven't heard of any two stage aftermarket triggers for the Savage, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Check the Savageshooters.com forum - if one exists, they'd have heard of it.

I like the Accu trigger and everyone that has tried my rife likes it. I would always recommend trying before buying if possible.

I love the accutrigger.
I don't know of a better out of the box trigger. I think it's better than many aftermarket ones.

yeh i was digging that Basix (too bad the accu isn't a drop in... WTF savage?)
guess i'll have to recycle some brass ;)

i would look around for a used savage with the accutrigger *or* save up for a new one. it is well worth it and i love it as well. nice, crisp break. pew! pew! pew!

i'm not sure because i've never tried a Basix, but how is the bolt on those? all of the accutrigger Savages i've tried (i own one) and tried a two others also had a nice smooth bolt. these were all short and long-action variants in .223 (mine), .308 and .300 win mag (i think that was long action)

The bolt is way better than my 91/30 ;)

This is a center fire (in .223) to get me by until i can save up for an AR, and then a higher end bolt gun...

It's a stepping stone :)

I might pick get a bolt action 22LR from them so I hopefully I'll like it. If most of you guys love it, I don't see why I wouldn't.

I still haven't decided if in the future I should go with a savage or R700. I do like their .338 guns.
