Has anyone seen on-line or book info on the old butt-first draw technique attributed to the U.S. Army during the Indian Wars era? As I understand it, it was not a cross-draw.

I have heard that cross-draw is banned by SASS, but what about the butt-first draw?

Cross Draw is not banned by SASS. You just can't break the 170 rule. So you do what they call the "Cross Draw Dance."

That's where you twist your body so the muzzle of the pistol is facing down range, you pull the pistol out of the holster, face the targets normal, then twist, reholster, face normal and then draw your other pistol normally.

As for the Butt draw, I'm not sure what that is...
