http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/20...-wesson-mp-pistols-fall-ca-doj-approved-list/

Hot on the heels of Ruger’s announcement that it will allow all of its pistols to fall off the California Department Of Justice approved list, ending Ruger’s pistol sales in the Golden State, Smith & Wesson’s taking their M&P pistols off the menu. Guns Direct Facebook page let slip news of [what is in effect] a manufacturer boycott: “Attention: California gun owners. Smith & Wesson Corp. just informed us that all the M&P pistols will be falling off the Ca DOJ list of approved handguns in the next 60 days. So if your [sic] thinking about one, now is the time.” Ruger stopped sales claiming they could not satisfy the CA DOJ’s microstamping requirement. As of yet there’s no official statement from Smith.

If there are no guns left on the roster because the manufacturers cant meet the requirements could the state be taken to court for banning handguns by virtue of making the requirements to difficult to meet? Just a thought.

CA Government would most likely argue that because revolvers are exempt from the microstamping requirement that handguns are not actually banned. CA has become a state with a true tyrannical .gov.

Look at the bright side, this will open up a slew of problems and in a few years after the courts straighten out this mess, California might be better than most states.

You cannot have a defacto handgun ban.

The more that jump ship, faster, the more this will turn up the heat against the stupid law. It's literally the only hope they have there at this point.

Would be a de facto semi auto handgun ban which are clearly in common use. Stupid state. Thank you for future law suits that will probably benefit gun owners

Now if only the manufacturers would stop selling to law enforcement the arms that civilians can't own....

Won't matter if they do or not, some intermediary distributor will probably do it and pocket the extra cash.

It would but they don't care. It's not their money they're wasting.

True, but it would also give citizens another wedge to drive into the state. The manufacturers are refusing to do business because of their insane laws and now every tax payer is getting squeezed more because they have to back door through someone else. Some people won't care, but other's might think twice about supporting those types of laws if you can tie them directly to their wallet getting smaller.

So CA will have nothing but illegals, deadbeats, gangbangers, and unarmed trillionaire liberals? Should be fun to watch.

yes. The case would have to go to USSC to get away from the anti-gun bias, though.

If a case is sought, I doubt 2A will even be brought up be either side. This is likely an interstate commerce case, that'll almost certainly go straight to SCOTUS...especially if two or three states are involved. This is essentially a state preventing the sale of goods from another state.

Yes, but it will be tied up in the courts for a while before being over turned.

Maybe instead of securing the boarder they can just Fence CA off and send all the illegals and criminals there. Kind of like what AUS used to be. Hollywood liberal elite could even make money by filming some killer "end-of-the-world" movies without traveling far. A win-win situation!

I moved to NH from CA last fall...it's pretty much that way now...from Sac down it's essentially northern Mexico and the coast is dominated by Moonbats.

I think one thing the Founding fathers forgot in the Constitution was a way to vote out Rogue states when they went bad...Kicking CA out of the country would solve half our problems.

Sell California back to Mexico.
