S&W Model 36 Holster

I recently picked up a S&W Model 36, 1-7/8" barrel revolver. I realize that this is a "pocket carry" gun but I wish to carry it IWB. Looking at holster ads I see a plethora of holsters for 2" barrels. For all intents and purposes, is the 1-7/8" equivalent to a 2" barrel for holster sizing?

Usually yes. You'll find that there are two types of J frame holsters out there. One will be for the 'short' 38spl frame and another that fits the 'longer' 357 frame. Both will work for the M36 but if you had say a 340pd or a 640, the smaller holster will not fit.
