I do not understand this...

Seems to me like the bill is criminalizing "fraudulent" advertisement of firearms sales.

It does not ban advertising of guns.

Can somebody set me straight?

It makes it illegal to sell or advertise any gun via "false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises". At a guess, it would allow a USAtty to punish (via "the process is the punishment") gun manufacturers or stores that he thinks (or pretends to think) put something "false" in an ad.

Ummm, weren't people chimp-screaming about how the R's were throwing all sorts of bills thru the House 6-8 years ago even though they'd never hit the Senate nor get an Obama signature??? How that was SO AWESOME because they were working for us. And if they DIDN'T throw up one of this no-chance-in-hell bills, they were being disloyal to their conservative base????

Amazing how when the shoe is on the other foot, the opinion changes.

Frivolous legislation is just frivolous no matter who is in control.
