'Sturm Ruger & Co. is staffing up in order to meet the “historic surge” in gun demand that has depleted its inventory.

The Southport, Connecticut-based gun maker has hired 250 employees, mostly in production, since the middle of 2020 to help replenish its stocks as the surge in demand caused combined inventories in its warehouses and distributors to decrease by 86%, or 290,000 units, last year. '

Gunmaker Sturm Ruger ramps up hiring as demand soars

Ruger should start making ammo.

This appears to be some company making ammunition and licensing the Ruger name to put on the box.

edit -- yep it's made by PolyCase (interceptor?)

Now that they own Marlin's tooling and intellectual property, they need those people to start cranking out sweet lever actions.
This. They would need people anyway to produce levers. Those people will need to be more skilled.

But if you cant keep a high demand cheaply made ranch rifle on the shelves at top dollar, yeah, your losing money.

as usual by the time they ramp up it will be too late. Demand is already starting to soften.
