Anyone's thoughts on Ruger's bolt action rifles in a commie caliber? I thought the earlier models were wildly inaccurate if you used cheap steel bulk ammo, something that wasn't a problem with the CZ 527.

I have one in 300BLK that's waiting to go to the range.
Similar ballistics to x39, it's one of my calibers, and I couldn't find one in x39 at the time.

I could've sworn there was another thread about this, but I couldn't find it on brief search. OP of that thread said the American x39 was a banger. I'm considering one myself.

Had one was awesome when 7.62x39 was 3.99 a box. Now at .50 plus cents a round the 5.56 that takes ar mags makes more sense.
A box of x39 goes a lot further in BA over SA. It'll barely make a dent in the stores those who've stashed away. Plus, you're still getting a 30 cal hole.

Still loads more accurate than any AK or SKS can be, but like post 2 said the price of the ammo now would give me second thoughts as IDK if the future supply of it is going to be there. I see currently there's some steel case Azerbijiani ammo going for half a buck a rd and New Republic (Hungarian) brass case is the same price and at that price I'd go with the brass stuff to reload.

Gone are the days of steel case 7.62x39 going for under 30 cents a round.

If you're dead set on getting a .30 cal bolt action, I can't think of a cheaper ammo, but .350 Legend is apparently gaining traction for the hunting market and doesn't cost that much more, is available in bolt actions, and if there's ever a panic you can reload that straight wall case very easily. I've been considering getting into that caliber for these reasons, the ability to use it in an AR without the known issues of 7.62x39 is just icing on the cake.

Very happy with mine. Takes mini-30 magazines, 10 rounders are cheap and easy to find. You can still find .x39 for under
50 cents a round if you look.

Lightweight rifle. Points easy and shoots very well, offhand or off a bench. Very happy with the accuracy. Everyone I let shoot mine really likes it.
You wont be disappointed.
