RI Proposing New AWB & Magazine Ban Legislation

And it seems pretty shitty that they skipped the hearing portions because they say these bills were refiled so they carry over from last year so the testimony portion carries over also. Well, last year no one was allowed at the Statehouse and everything was done over the phone and ALOT of pro 2A weren't able to get through to testify. How convenient of the dishonest politicians in Providence

I'm just sick of it. The roads are like a mine field, every bridge is about to fall on someones head, there's a homeless person begging for money on every corner, gas is through the roof, buying a home is unaffordable for most younger adults. But these idiots are worried about magazine capacity and assault weapons both which has never been a problem in R.I. I got to admit they are wearing me down. I'm 64 and have been to too many rallies and protest and it seems it's a waste of time as they don't seem to care. They just have an agenda to follow.

Reminder that more people have been killed by the Providence Place Mall escalator (2) than semi-auto rifles in RI.

Stay vigilant.

Ri is a shit little piss ant version of Mass

Is that kunt still governor?
.
Nope.

No she is on the Brandon team as Commerce secretary. Brandon only picks the best![rofl]

Yep. The beady-eyed Socialist is in DC. "This will all work out if you just let me make all of the decisions for you." WTF, Woman!? You have NO RIGHT!

Commerce Secretary. She can't commerce her way out of a paper bag. She's ANTI-Commerce.

even with lower participation the Pro 2A (Yellow shirts) out numbered the
anti 2A by 50 to 1 ratio.

Senate hearings are today starting at 3pm

I was there yesterday, and I'll be there again today. If you'd like to say Hi, I'll be the one wearing the yellow T-shirt.

I fought gun control in RI for 15 years. They will never stop and the same bills get reintroduced every year

It’s one of the many reasons I escaped the cesspool known as RI. What RI lacks in size, it make for it in stupidity and corruption

Best of luck

No news yet in either direction, which is a little strange, usually by now we would know if bills were held for further study which is what you want or if they passed out of committee which would suck because then the full floor vote happens next. Most states are loosening restrictions but not here in the stupid ass Northeast

If the testimony from the last two days was an actual debate, the pro-gun group would have a decisive victory. However, I'm sure that most of the great points made by our side fell on deaf ears, and the anti-gunners in the House and Senate will likely end up pushing through their anti agendas...unfortunately. And the governor has said already that he is ready to put his stamp of approval on any anti-gun laws.

The worst thing that happened to gun owners in the state of RI was Mattiello losing to Fung's wife which cost him the Speaker role. I never root for Democrats but in the area of keeping the Anti 2A scumbags at bay, Mattiello was surprising good at it. So in essence it's the Republican party which screwed the gun owners of RI over which can only happen in RI

There's actually a fair amount of support for gun rights in the suburbs of RI. Those legislators aren't the knee-jerkers here in MA. I think RIers tend to think a bit more independently - look at the Hilary/Trump election results in RI. I can't remember exactly but I thought Turmp hit around 40%.

One of the big problems in RI is the various pro-gun groups are antagonistic towards each other. Divided we fall.

I escaped RI several years ago, but had a pretty good view of the bickering between the groups and saw that the liberals in places like Providence would use that against them.

You should leave a state for proposing gun laws rather than fighting against them?

Weak.
Maybe I'm weak for leaving, but when I was there I did fight. Eventually I made the decision that I would rather be a part of a community that respects my rights and my contributions than to continue to be ostracized by one that doesn't. Gun rights are not the only reason to leave these communist states. Life is short and I would rather live the rest of it enjoying it. The people you consider weak may well have done quite a bit to fight against tyrannical laws. At some point, someone has done their fair share and deserves to live in freedom where it is available.

The Republican form of government is not dedicated to the proposition that
you're stuck in the First-World Sh¡thole you're born in,
peering in to the front window of some free state you'd rather live in
with your nose pressed up against the glass, unable to enter.

If you're in your twenty's or very early thirty's you may be able to readjust to a new location. I'm a Rhode Islander and damn proud of it. Yes the government and the taxes suck but we have to try and improve it. I tried the Florida thing and it wasn't for me. There's a culture in RI and Mass. that isn't in any other part of the country. The food and restaurants are better than the rest of the country. You will miss your favorite pizza or burger joint, Rhode Islanders will miss weines, coffee milk, Dels lemonade, Clam boils, steamers and the lists goes on. Most of the rest of the country doesn't have these local things and everything is chains. Believe me you will miss them. We are close to the ocean, three hours out of New York, 90 minutes out of Boston, a couple of hours from Maine or NH. There is a reason people stay in Mass. and RI, you have to live here all your life to understand.
