Just so happy today...
Finally after almost 4 months of waiting and 2 visits to AG office got my Rhode Island non-resident pistol permit with no restrictions...
wow. what a pain in the a**s it was. but finally picked it up this morning.

download application and requirements from RI AG website
http://www.riag.state.ri.us/documents/bci/pistols.pdf
you will need to qualify with military type L target on 25 yards. 30 min 30 rounds minimum score 195.
American Firearms School in North Attleboro can help you with that. I would recommend to qualify with the biggest caliber you can, it will be caliber listed on permit and you can carry less caliber but not more then you been qualified with. I did my in .45acp
C&R FFL03 and your own business ( if you have one) will help.
also you will need 3 personal references letters must be notarized as well as letter to AG with explanation why you need a CCW in RI.
I also came back for 2 interviews.

by far it was most complicated and long process of getting CCW permit.
I have Utah, Florida, Connecticut, Main, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and now Rhode Island as non-resident
Even my Mass LTC was a cake walk compare to RI.

i would like to do this as well.....what's the first step??
