"Results oriented judiciary" is an insult leveled at courts who first look at the outcome they want in the case, and then go on a scavenger hunt to find a justification for that result - effective acting as de-facto legal counsel for the side it has decided should win.
The CNN article on one of the original SCOTUS affirmative action cases shows just how far "results oriented" can go - it even includes SCOTUS internal memos about "finding a way" to arrive at a particular decision. What is most interesting about this is not matter of the specific case, but rather how blatant the court was about "wanting a particular result" rather than following the law where it leads.
