Here are the results of Amoskeag auction #107 as viewed by Proxibid. The sold for price does not include the hammer of 15/17.5%, and another 18/20.5% if you use the Proxibid service.

I wasn't in attendance myself. I hope to go to the next auction on November 21+22; there are already four nice flintlocks on the teaser page.

Where did you get the buyer's premium figures from? They should be:

15% if paying by cash/check at the live auction, 17.5% for credit card
18% if paying by cash/check via internet bidding sites, 20.5% for credit card

Had JFK's M1 gone up on the block yet?
Auctions are funny , some people just have to win it! Loved this mentality when I was actively selling on eBay.

That is why I rarely go to gun auctions anymore. I remember that's where you used to go to get deals, not pay over retail.

Here's a good auction story for you.

A couple years ago I was at an auction in NH and there was an open $50 bag of pennies from the mint. They were all 1978 pennies. Well there were two bidders on it and it went for $137 + buyers premium. Other than the two bidders everyone else was looking around to see who the idiots were. On the best day you'd guess it had all $50 in it, but I'd assume it did not.
