Do we have a resident plumber/HVAC guy on NES in the Metrowest-ish area. My mother's place in Medfield is in need of some TLC. She has hydronic baseboard heaters, split into 4 zones. System is ~15 years old and don't think it's ever had maintenance done.

Needs to replace the expansion tank (completely filled with water), probably need to replace/service the hy-vent and air scoop along with it.

Also, last year's cold spell did a number on the pipes. Baseboard heaters along the bump-out/bay windows froze and burst in two spots there, and one in another room. Those were repaired and everything seemed fine. We tried turning on the heat last night and got no heat from the heaters. Pretty sure there's still a leak somewhere.

Looking for any plumber/HVAC recommendations. Thanks!

Zone sounds air bound. Get the expansion tank done and purge the air out. Stay warm.

Who ever does it, make sure they add antifreeze to the system so you don't have the burst pipe issue again.

Make sure you get the right glycol for your boiler.

Glycol is not for everyone and it gets $$$ not to mention it is corrosive to the fittings.

Thanks for the advice so far. But surprised there isn't a single recommendation. Good HVAC guys are like unicorns?

since there is a possibility of cross contamination between heating system water, and the drinking water in your house...i would be careful about antifreeze!

Two of them commented on your issue. They're just not in your area [laugh]

    Did you get it fixed?
