If the Democrats had continued to put people like that in office - they really would have a stranglehold on power.

The democratic party may not be what it is today if it where lead by people like Jackson. He was like a lot of presidents though he was extremely supportive of individual rights and yet marched the Indians away. I just like him more than other but completely admit he was flawed like the rest of them.
