The Hughes Amendment petition is doing terribly. I guess those who want the NFA gone still don't want to be able to buy post-1986 MG receivers.

They aren't completely useless, because they can get the issue on Whitehouse radar. We have an administration that might be open to this if the house or senate provides them a bill to sign.

Maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't ditching the NFA wipe out hughes as well?

If the NFA was repealed in it's entirety, than yes. I think that will never happen. Ever. I'd love to see SBRs/SBSs wiped from the NFA, however. This is the easiest to logically justify, since every shotgun or rifle is 5 minutes and a hacksaw away from being an SBR/SBS.
