Remington Arms Plant Ignites Into Flames

Thanks for the info and link GotGuns.

The video had the fire chief saying that the building has been unoccupied for ten years and that the fire is “suspicious” in origin. He said they had other small fires from vagrants from time to time and that people have been going in to steel piping etc. for salvage money. I’m just glad it’s not a working factory.

My father is a Bridgeport fire captain and was at that fire. The building has been vacant for many years and is not even owned by Remington anymore. They suspect it was arson started by a bum. There is something like $10-12 million dollars owed in back taxes on the property by the owner Sal Dinardo. This plant has not been active since after the Gulf war.
