Nope. In 1982 I graduated from college in Worcester. My 2 best job offers were a) on the North Shore of MA, and b) southern California. It snowed that April. I took the job in CA.

I remember an early May snowstorm back in 84' or 85' that did a ton of tree damage.
It was the heavy wet stuff, and the trees were just about in full blossom when it hit.
The Dogwood tree on my front lawn fell over from the weight of the snow on the leaves.
We, pulled it back up and staked it with some ropes, but it never fully recovered.

We had just taken my sister's MGB out of winter storage that May.
8" of snow and the car had about a three inch ground clearance.
My Brother and I shoveled a place beside it and then picked it up and put it in the clean spot.

I remember when that trick wouldn't have put me in the ER. [angry]

Is that a Marvel the Mustang?!
    I had one of those.
He wasn't a "rocking" horse...you sort of bounced up and down in the saddle, and he "walked" forward.
Some sort of magic, accomplished by wheels under his hooves that only rolled in one direction or something.

you used to be able to run around in the woods all day and not have to pick ticks off of yourself.

No kidding. I along with my friends used to practically live in the woods. I also used to cut thru the woods to a new school in the 6th grade. We never had to worry about ticks back then.

I think I still have a couple of those old plates.

Forget a few days. Remember sending in the film, and waiting over a week to get them back, and you never knew what might come back?

Also, how about going out on Saturday night for gas and milk, because everything was closed on Sunday. This was when Honey Farms ("convenience stores") were a new thing. I thought they were the outlet for an actual farm!

Later on, driving to New Hampshire on Sunday for beer runs.

Reading through the car stereo stuff, how about "EQUALIZERS"? And reverb boxes? Think I lost some of my hearing flying around Sutton in an AMC Javelin with lots of big speakers and most likely to the Who.

The local bar (in the early 1980s) selling beer at a 100% markup on Sundays in a paper bag out the back door by the railroad tracks.

The local Pharmacy (same time frame) selling hard liquor on Sundays for *cough* cough* "Medicinal Purposes" (also at a 100% markup).

Hunting in wool pants. Pre day-glo orange (before my time).

How about when you had to keep part of your carry gun exposed, because otherwise you were hiding it, which was illegal?

How about going to the pharmacy for wintergreen oil and peppermint oil to be used as penetration oils for bolts or rusted nut releases? That was when the auto parts stores were closed on Sunday. Apply those oils with heat and the garage smelled great!

Fist fights as a kid. No real danger apart from a black eye or bloody nose, and no grudges. No police involvement, and if it happened at school, nothing more than detention. Parent's concern: "did you win?"

Knew not to be disrespectful, or s**t talk, to older kids/adults. Nothing would have stopped them from giving you what you deserved.
