Reloaders - what is this?

I found this in a box of commercially purchased reloads. Not sure what exactly it is - but it looks like the old primer never got punched out. Are those marks from the primer removal tool?



I do not reload myself yet - but am thinking about taking the course Goal offers when I get the time and money. Just looking to collect as much information as possible before I start investing in supplies and equipment.

Backwards primer.
Possibly spent backwards primer, or the priming compound came out if the cup?

OK - I can see it being a spent - or empty backwards primer.

Yep - I see the media in it now.

So somehow this round was manufactured with an empty backwards primer.
