Reference letter example

hey i am about to apply but i need two reference letters for my town. I was wondering if something like this would be good just so i can give my references and idea on what they are looking for. Any Comments or suggestions would be appreciated

I just had my neighbors write something to the affect of , Ive known ******** for ^******* years and believe him to be responsible enough to exercise his 2nd amendment rights. Then a signature and street address. No phone number. The officer didn't even read them.
