Red dot optics suggestions

I have the eps carry on a hellcat pro, so far so good. Closed emitter and you don't have to remove the sight to change batteries. The downside for me with micro red dots is the smaller window. I've shot it a decent amount but I'd say 50% of the time I have to try to find the dot when I draw. I'm contemplating going back to irons, I feel like I'm faster on the first shot with the irons.

Don’t give money to our enemies. Trijicon is made in USA and arguably the most resilient mini red dots out there. Screw Holosun.
In the toughness argument, id recommend the new sig Romeo x. They have an open and just came out with a enclosed.

Here's it being used as a hammer for a nail on a board

And if you go all custom holster, you can have a magnet put in it near the optic and the optic will stay off until its no longer there

Actually watching that I'll give the same advice i always give op

You need to try dots and see what works for you

I cant see delta point pros it looks like a jackson pollock painting.

Not that youd slap a dpp on a hellcat...but the point it there go with what you can see op

I am considering purchasing a red dot for USPSA. I had another thread on this forum where several posts suggested I put a red dot on my X5 Legion and shoot CO instead of production or Limited. I am new to USPSA. I typically have trouble finding and tracking the dot when I am trying to go fast. I am told I need to practice and do dry fire drills.

My question is if I want to got CO with the Legion, which RDS should I go with. I would like a large FOV. I have a p320 M18 with a Sig Romeo 1 pro and that is what I used when I was having trouble finding and tracking the dot. Based on that, any suggestions for a red dot on the Legion? I have looked at the new large optics (romeo3xl and max)from Sig as well well as the Trijicon SRO. The other idea is to forget the optic for now and just shoot limited. Thank you.

You are eyeing the right ones from sig for big fov.
The x is a smaller window.
Other rdo's that I e heard are popular for competitions are more.
If you watched more videos from humble marksman you'd see that he reviews a lot of competition dots because that's what he does a lot of

If I had a straight out competition gun( I kinda do)
I wouldn't hesitate on buying either of the ones you are looking at personally.
I trust sig for 3 things.
Optics, ammunition and hammer fired pistols.

If you wanted a taste of big window optics to see if you like it, I'd give swampfox optics justice 2 a try.
I've had their 1st gen ones on my carry guns without issue

I’m a huge fan of my SRO on my Glock 19. That’s my local range pit gun. I tried IDPA with it and liked it, but life got in the way so I haven’t been to an event since.

You know where Trijicon sources their emitters, Holosun.
Haha yeah I have no problems running Horroson dots. The CCP is the enemy, not its civilians nor private enterprises. With that logic I bought a cheap TCL commie 4K Roku TV a couple years ago for the office and I always tell myself *but... the panel where it counts is SAMSUNG*

Amen brother.

Why are so many patriots ok with saving a buck to buy from a country whose objectively a problem.?

I love trijicin. From the mini acog which may be the best optic ever for the average soldier, to the RMR and SRO for their amazing durability.

check out the Holosun/Primary Arms Vulcan reticle. It makes that problem much smaller.

If your new to them the acss recticle from holosun is a great dry fire trainer to help you pick them up.

It has a circle that comes into view when you are not in aligment.

Really good tool to help you get used to dots on pistols

You may not end up running it after you get comfy but would recommend for the intial period

Range toy, nightstand gun? Ccw gun? Go to war side arm? What are we talking here for a use case?
This is fair too...i assumed a hellcat meant ccw but its not good to assume

If its a nightstand gun I'm fine going for a cheaper dot...the romeo 0 or crimson trace.

Basically looking for a sight that fits the width of the slide well, without the need of buying a separate mounting plate, will co-witness with the irons and not break the bank.

You should look at red dots that will mount directly to your slide, without needing a mounting plate. That will keep the dot low, make it easier to shoot, and eliminate one possible point of failure. Also, your intended use will sort of steer your dot selection. If it's a competiton/range toy, they options are wide open. If it's home defense/carry, then I'd only go with the better quality options. You need to figure out what will fit, then see who is using them so you can check them out.

Using a plate loses cowitness tho.
Yeah but you are less likely to break a screw or loosen them on a plate or have them sieze. The posts take the impact of the shot not the screws directly

At least thats what the interwebs says...idk kinda makes sense i guess?

Im not smart enough to disprove it
