NRA GFY! And I don't mean 'good for you'.

Anyone else get their sleazy ad campaign letter today with big bold "NOTICE OF GUN CONFISCATION" on front of the envelope?

Dear Wayno, are you trying to make the Guinness Book of World Records in this category?

Seriously, this tactic is sleazier than Wayno's wardrobe budget.

Why not some truth in advertising? "Hi, my name is Wayne Lapierre. I'm soliciting for donations to my Cialis fund in order to keep NRA interns busy. Give till it hurts! Send your donation today and I'll send you a live link to our interns getting naughty."

(Yes, this is Wayno's intern)

I try to keep an open mind and watch for WLP's departure and hopefully some retooling at the NRA, but getting junk mail like this doesn't give me much hope for that. At least we have GOAL, COMM2A, and some local clubs in jeopardy that we can support. C'mon NRA- do better!

I've not given for years. Wayne needs to be long gone but if they do send live links to the interns getting naughty I would seriously consider giving a donation to the interns! ;) [smile]

If I'm a motivated 2A voter it isn't because of the NRA it's because I *am* a gun owner. I really don't want to send any money to the NRA at least until good ole Wayne is gone. No more celebrity leadership. I don't want the NRA run by 'the Nuge' or Charlton Heston v2.

Funny , I have not heard from the NRA since I got my life membership?
Life membership packet is still sitting on the shelf downstairs. Not even a quality pocket knife.

I seriously want †hem †o get back to their roots and effectiveness of days gone by. Maybe it wasn't perfect but it wasn't anything like the mess we see today. If it weren't for the more local / regional orgs we have I'd be seriously bummed out regarding the status of 2A support organizations. I realize this is another NRA bashing thread, but that type of mail campaign isn't cute- especially if you live in a state like Mass. At first glance in the mailbox my first thought was holy f-ing sh!t, what is this?

What can I plaster over the front of my return letter to Wayno?

SUMMONS TO APPEAR?
NOTICE OF AUDIT?
IT'S A BOY, FROM MEGAN?
STD TEST REQUEST?

what is the intern name?

Asking for all the NES members that want to know.

“LaPierre billed the group’s ad agency $39,000 for one day of shopping at a Beverly Hills clothing boutique, $18,300 for a car and driver in Europe and had the agency cover $13,800 in rent for a summer intern, according to newly revealed NRA internal documents.”

Thank you.

Not sure if this is the right one, but whatever.

Putting this out here before the NES Stud Club shows up. #STUDS.

Inky ... and pointy elbows [wink]

As for the NRA, I became a Life Member nearly 20 years ago on one of their deals before they decided to show their true colors. Told them not to call, not to send anything other than the American Rifleman. So far it's worked. Haven't given them another penny, never gone to a "dinner".

The people who complain about receiving mailings from the NRA either can't figure out how to opt out of the mailings or they just like complaining. It couldn't be much easier. Log in to your account and click the opt out button. Then the only thing you'll ever get in the mail is the magazine. And if you don't want the magazine you can opt out of that too.

Great, so Wayne is using our membership dues to hire prostitutes and calling them interns? Am I understanding the issue correctly? We know what Wayne looks like. No attractive young female is banging him for an intern opportunity.

Same here, haven't given them any money in a long time. Keep my money local. Too bad, it wouldn't take much to get people back on board.

I dont know.....I mean the campaign was successful. I would never have heard about it unless it was provocative. I think their marketing teams thinks "if we get our own thread on NES then we are winning".

Come on now guys, such negative Nancy's .
Wayne is only going to let them take a few of your guns away to "Compromise."
Ok , well all of them if you get red flagged like he supported , but forget that , it's water under the bridge.
Some of you guys just don't understand the complicated process of taking your money and selling you down the river in backroom deals.
It's hard work and requires very expensive suits.

This is why I'm not renewing my membership. I want real NRA back.

The old Boomer Fudds at the ranges I belong to make it mandatory to be an NRA member in order to maintain membership, it makes me cringe to write that check!!

Edit: Yes I understand that they get some discount insurance policy BS from the NRA. I'd rather them double the membership fee and get another insurance carrier

The NRA's present leadership sucks. It has more clout nationally than anything else I am aware. It is kinda like President Donald Trump. Not the best but better than the rest.
I too am a lifer and that is the extent of my support. Goal and Com2a get my on going support. Their legal actions are more effective than it would seem the NRA is but the NRA
supports them from behind in order to avoid additional fallout from the anti's of claims that outsiders are influencing unfairly. It is okay though that Soros and Blooburg and Mothers against everything interfere.

I was a member a long time ago, but am being forced to join again...as a condition of membership in the gun club I'm joining.
