I've always like Hackathorn, he seems to have some common sense ideas and pretty much always can explain what he is trying to teach.

Which Ready Position is Right?​

I am rather old school and still adhere to the low ready pistol. I accept that there are circumstances where one style might be more conducive over the other but this is largely a personal stylistic issue. I just try to keep it simple and economical.

I didn't think there would be any additional information to add to my original post but the following from Tiger McKee popped up on another email I received. It seems to support what Zabos X2 wrote.

Searching the internet for “handgun ready positions” reveals more “ready positions” than I ever imagined. I found examples including compressed, inside, modified, mid, high, single and ambush-ready positions just to name a few. Who knew such a simple concept and technique as the ready position could be so complicated? Having too many tools in the box is just as bad as not having enough. Simple is usually best and a traditional “low-ready” does almost everything needed.
