She is already dead. Kidding. If she isn't present do her clerks still get to write an opinion in her name?

She would probably ask her docs to keep her on a vent until Trump is no longer the one to appoint her replacement.

As much as I don't like her views I would have to let her have a few sick days before she gets tossed on her butt

I think we can say that for about half the court now based on some of their rulings. They are clearly not doing their job anymore.

At least they're showing up, and are able to keep their head vertical without assistance.

Although she is missing the arguments in person, she can request the transcripts and participate in the remainder of the process. Its been done before so dont get too excited yet.

Example: When Chief Justice William Rehnquist was battling thyroid cancer, he missed several arguments throughout the 2004-2005 term. He ended up voting in many of those cases and wrote the majority opinion in four of them.

My high school shop related teacher did that his last year. I would say from Sept to Jan of his last year he came to school 5 times then retired. Maybe RGB is doing the same!

Remember, no nominations to the SCOTUS in 2020. If she is to be replaced it must be 2019 only.

Nah. She's prepping for the PR tour for that BlockPreserver of a movie about her that ether came out or is coming out or whatever. Maybe they should have had Amy Adams play her and had a few key nude scenes.

correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no formal rule on that. The party controlling the Senate has the power to hold the hearings or not. Since R's held the Senate during Obama's last year, they could rightfully postpone and D's couldn't do a damn thing about it other than bitch, whine, temper-tantrum, whatever. But in the end, the Senate leadership calls the hearings.

And I PRAY that if RBG vacates before 11/2020, that they have the balls to hold the hearings/vote.

History says that the nominee of a president in the last year of his second term, will not be considered. There is no rule.
However this is Trumps first term. So that doesn't apply.
The problem is Grassley stated back in October that he would not consider a supream court nomination at all in 2020.
If Grassley is replaced as chairman, then its game on. Not sure if the judiciary committee has already been finalized or not.

We need an EMP near wherever she is, just to make sure the life support turns off.

She’s tough though, I’ll hold off on my happy dance for a while.

Uhhhhhh ... should not this be “RBG” for Ruth Bader Ginsberg? Haha ... and not Red Green Blue as everyone else responded to?

I can see her planning to be kept on life support for as long as it takes to be replaced by a libtard, probably all set up in advance? She looks like they've been soaking her in formaldehyde in between SCOTUS sessions for years, the old twat!
