A friend and I are looking to join a club. He said the Reading Rifle and Revolver Club is near him. Does anyone know anything about it, and if they are accepting memberships?

Yes. Reading is a very good club. It has the only 600 meter High Power range in MA. They also have an Indoor Pistol Range. I have "Applied" for membership there. They let you apply, want to see you a few times handle weapons, and then I believe they vote on new members once they feel comfortable with that individual. I think it's $200 the first year then around $100 annually. They have a website http://www.readingrifle.com/, go there for details. I'll be up there just about every weekend this summer practicing rifle.

Also if you are not too far from Braintree, they also have a very nice club. They have two indoor pistol ranges. Their rifle range only goes to 100 meter though. But the facilities are top notch there.
Check here for details. http://www.brp.org/ It is much easier to join here. Pay $165, attend the new members class and you will get an all access badge that same day. I and LenS are both members there. LenS talked me in to joining. [lol]

Hope this helps
Derek

That's a big help. I live in Swampscott, which is on the North Shore. Near Salem. Braintree isn't THAT far, but it's through the city.

If you want to check it out, I can meet you there one weekend. Braintree that is.

I'd love to. Do you have to wait for your license before you can go?

No. I can at least show you the facilities so you can make a decision on wether or not you would like to join. I will be going there this weekend. I don't know which day yet. But I will let you know so we can meet up.

Martlet,

Check out the list of clubs on http://www.goal.org/clubs/affiliatedclubs.html

Braintree is a great club, but there are other clubs much closer to you.

Braintree requires that you have a LTC or FID in order to become a member. They put you in a provisional member category if all you lack is the license and when you get your license they grant you full membership.
