Going tonight to the indoor range
Is it OK to shoot a beretta cx4 in 9mm there. It sure as hell ain't gonna make it threw the backstop. I would think it's ok just wanted to find out first

Although the HSC handbook states that all pistol calibers are allowed, it specifically states no centerfire rifles or shotguns. The CX4 is a rifle and thus is not permitted.

When I asked a board member there about using my Hi-Point 9mm at the indoor range, I was told to go for it. People can shoot pistols in there that are way more powerful than a 9mm carbine.

Perhaps, but the board members individually are not the arbiters of what is allowed and what isn't, the handbook is.

I don't know what this "flak alley" is that you are referring to, but if you mean the SMG steel range next to the machine gun range, then yes, of course you can, since it's designed for submachine guns. Plate racks are a no-go, as are the cowboy steel pits.

I would have sworn that range was called "Flak Alley". Oh well.

Thanks for the info. Now I just need to finally buy one of the 9mm carbines I've been thinking about...

Nope, that one's called the "close quarters range". I've got my spiffy new HSC handbook in front of me. [smile]

on a related note, is it possible to shoot clays using the throwers by yourself? or do you need somebody else operating the thrower? I've never used one of those things before. thanks

They make foot activated clay throwers. That you could do by yourself. But the ones set up at the range need a second person
