I have poked in the internet and I believe the answers to the following questions are "YES" but I want to ask those who went down this road before me.

1. Can the front sight/muzzle assembly be replaced with an adapter or other "standardly threaded"
brake/blast diverter?

2. Will the rifle accept and reliably feed with PMAG 10 LR/SR magazines?

M1a mags are different pattern than pmag 7.62 mags. Armalite pattern B utilize a mag based on the m14. So definitely no to #2. I don’t know about #1

Yes to question 1. Smith Enterprises makes an adapter that uses the castle nut to retain it.
