I found an unfired S&W AR-15 Optics ready carbine for $725 with 6 mags... but i also found a S&W M&P Sportster with rear and front sights for $600.00

can I remove the front & rear sights off this second one and is there any other real diferences between the 2??

I also plan to swap out the foregrips for a quad rail forend and the pinned stock to a skeleton style...

first one here

2nd one here

any input on differences?

The one thing I will say, from what I've been told, the s&w m&p 15 optics ready carbine will need it's gas block changed in order to free float a quad rail. This can be done with an after market part.Someone correct me if I'm wrong

I think the sportster does not have a Forward Assist or Dust Cover.

Depending on the handguard length, you might be able to use the gas block it comes with. If you want a mid-length or rifle length rail, you will need to replace it.
