Reloading some 7.5x55 this weekend and I found a Rem 9.5 large rifle primer with two anvils stacked on top of each other! The anvils covered the entire surface, so guaranteed not to work as intended...

I pulled the top anvil off, the orange cover over the priming compound was pulled down from the edge, exposing the primer material. I seated jt anyway and wrote "suspect primer" on the case. [thumbsup]

Nice. What you using for powder and bullets? I got insane accuracy with Nosler 168 gr CC’s over IMR-4064 in my K31

I need to revisit that powder at some point for 7.5x55 to see how it compares.

I found a good load last year at 49.5gr of RL17 in a PPU boxer case behind 175 Nosler CC’s. Probably some dirty old primer I found at the bottom of the stash.

My PMC berdan primers arrive this Friday, so I’m excited to see if they’ll fit the GP-11 brass. If not, I can use them in Russian caliber trash brass and steel I’m sure.

That is precisely the same combo that I use!! It's like a freaking laser beam. I'll go look up the exact weight, what are you using?

I've also had success with IMR3031 and with Varget, all with nosler 165 SP or 168 HPBT.

I'd have to double check but I believe it's 44 gr

I'm sorry,

Was this supposed to be a test of my visual acuity? :)

I do load the 7.5X55 but use 175gr SMK bullets as it's easier to duplicate GP-11 ballistics with that bullet.
I still have a stockpile of GP-11 to use for comparison purposes
My 1889/1911 likes in the neighborhood of 40ish grns. of H414.
My K31's like 45ish grns of IMR4350.
I use PRIVI brass.
Primers?
Well, I've typically used CCI BR2 or Federal 210M.
These days I figure what ever results in ignition is good..

Just my thoughts.
