I’ve located a source of pre-primed brass online and they will ship to MA, sans hazmat fee. $119 shipped for 100 rounds of 5.56. My question is: are there any disadvantages or pitfalls to reloading pre-primed brass?

I don’t see any issue with using pre primed. I’d check dimensions on at least a sample but if they hold powder and the projectile fits you should be good to go.

I've been using pre-primed 223 brass for a couple of years now. Never had a problem and shot my best 600 yard scores with it.. I bought it a hell of a lot cheaper than that, though.

Is it new brass? Is it pulled down brass that may need to be neck sized. i ask as I,bought some L C 308 that where pull downs but the price reflected that. Ran it through the neck sizer and done. All 100 went bang
That price is not great . In the market today its ok , the added time saved to process the brass plays into the price.

I was thinking of sending off 7500 223 to a brass processor but I cant find one that anneals also.
I often just do it myself but im getting older, lazier, less time and still would like it all annealed.

There should be no hazmat fee for cases loaded with primers.
Just looked , i bought primed wolf brass back in Jan for a friend cost was .18 each.

primers are .035-.06 cents each and new brass will run you .20 cents under normal prices. How long does it take to process 250 rounds of brass.

Yup: Primed Wolf 223 brass. Greatest thing since sliced bread, the internal combustion engine, and free internet porn. I was buying it on sale just last year for about 13 cents a piece delivered. I'd see the price go below $130 per thousand and I'd order another 2-3000.
I would put it through a neck die in the first station on my Dillon 650 in an attempt to get a somewhat consistent neck tension, but then just dump powder in, cap with a good bullet, and shoot X's.
I'll sell my once-fired brass for maybe 10 cents a piece and then go buy more Wolf. It's my intention to never size a piece of 223 brass ever again.

I should have bought more, in hind sight i should have sold my 7500 fired cases and bout 3k wolf primed. Well lets hope it comes back in stock. Im also at a point where I will just buy wolf 55 grain for 200 yards and in.
i dont get out to 2/3/6 but once or twice a year .

Primed brass isn't hazmat but it does need to ship the same as ammo with an ORM-D sticker. Just neck size it when you get it.
