I see a lot of listings for "pre ban" Mini 14's. Were they part of the old AWB or listed by Healey in The "new" one?
Thanks!!

There is no ban on Mini-14's, never was, unless it had a side folding stock. This hoopla about pre-ban Ruger Mini-14 is all a bucket load of bovine scatology!
  • The Act exempted some 650 firearm types or models (including their copies and duplicates) which would be considered manufactured in October 1993. The list included the Ruger Mini-14 Auto Loading Rifle without side folding stock, Ruger Mini Thirty Rifle, Iver Johnson M-1 Carbine, Marlin Model 9 Camp Carbine, Marlin Model 45 Carbine, and others. The complete list is in section 110106, Appendix A to section 922 of Title 18. This list was non-exhaustive.[12]

Pre-ban in any ad increases the price by at least $200.

after seeing brand new stripped 'post healy' aero lowers that primary arms sells for $120 to go there (presumably, a it was updated as SPF) for $475 - whatever. people are just getting any crap without even checking. what evah.

I believe “pre-ban” with regards to Mini 14s means actual preban where it was made before 1994 and can have the evil features that make such guns killy and banable.

The “Healey preban” stuff is pure horse poop. Those are regular post ban rifles without the evil killy features that demand a premium (in shithole Massachusetts)

The Ruger Mini-14 was NEVER banned at anytime unless it has, have or will ever have a folding stock Period end of sentence, it’s written in very plain English in any Section of the approved Firearms list.

That listing in the classified is for $2650. You can buy a full auto one for 10 grand. Actually have something that’s going to increase in value..

It’ll even have that cool three round burst feature that doesn’t reset…

Or the bayonet lug and flash hider which some models shipped with. The 80s and early 90s were a big time for aftermarket folding stocks, too. Remember it is not configuration as shipped...

Unfortunately Ruger only managed to make the platform almost accurate in recent years... Probably not the best way to spend your $1000+
